TEAM PHILOSOPHY:
Each player will play at least one half (½)
of every game.
We
want every girl to be on the field as much as possible. Playing time will only be reduced if there are
unexcused absences or for poor attitude.
Participation in other activities is supported
and encouraged.
We
want the girls to be well-rounded and realize that soccer is probably not their only interest, so other sports and activities
are completely supported. That said, this is a team sport, and we need and expect each
one of our teammates for the key games.
One of our goals
is to see all of players qualify for their respective high school teams.
We
aim to prepare the girls for high school-level play, if they choose to follow that route. From Gary's
previous D5 Champion Indys team , there are many current varsity players: seven at Ridgefield HS, one at Columbia River HS,
one at Prairie HS, two at Hudson Bay HS and one at Mark Morris HS in Longview.
We want every
girl to love the game
We are a team
that will treasure every win and learn from every loss. We will always try to win by strategy and
finesse, rather than by rough tactics or with a system that favors a star player. The girls
will continue to learn the benefits of working as a team, staying in shape, and will come away with a better appreciation
for the beauty of this great sport.
